- The current transcript is: Along with your average grade, the transcript must display the number of credit points you have earned. Students in the Faculty of Engineering and Computer Science (apart from those in Automotive, Aeronautical, and Mechanical Engineering) will be asked for this information by the International Office following the application deadline.
- ID or resident Permit: While non-EU students are required to provide a copy of their resident permit, EU students are permitted to submit a copy of their passport or ID card.
- Financial Circumstances Form: Information regarding your financial situation as of right now.
- Letters of Suggestion: If this is your first application, you will need two letters of reference from teachers in your degree program. These letters should be sent directly by your lecturers to io_scholarships@haw-hamburg.de, the email address of the International Office.

- Status as an International Student: You need to be enrolled at HAW Hamburg as an international student. Additionally, you must have obtained your higher education admission certificate from outside of Germany or completed your prerequisite coursework at a German Studienkolleg.
- Enrollment Status: You must have finished at least one semester and two semesters for a Bachelor's degree at HAW Hamburg in order to be eligible for a Master's program.
- Standard Study Period: You should be able to complete your degree program within the standard study period, also known as the gemeinse Regelstudienzeit.
- Academic Performance: You must have a minimum average grade of 2.2 and continuously succeed academically.
- Limitations on Government Financing: At the time of application, you are not eligible to receive any BAföG or other government funding.
