In 2025, students can enroll in a fully financed eight-week summer program at the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR). Participation in the program is open to all nationals worldwide. Participants will stay in Dubna, Russia, for eight weeks, collaborating with JINR specialists to resolve engineering and scientific issues. The entire expense, including travel, visas, insurance, housing, and stipends, is covered by the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR). The JINR Summer Student Program, formerly known as the START Summer Student Program, draws Bachelor's, Master's, and PhD students with an emphasis on science, engineering, and information technology in an effort to link JINR with the next generation of Young Minds.

Starting in their fourth year of undergraduate studies and continuing through their first year of PhD studies, students under 30 from all over the world who specialize in science, engineering, and information technology are eligible to enroll in the onsite JINR student program known as START (ex-Summer Student Programme). Our main goal is to assist JINR laboratories in their efforts to find young, talented individuals who will stay on staff at JINR.
