Eligibility Criteria:

Applicants must fulfill the following requirements in order to be considered for the DDSA Postdoc Fellowship:

1. Qualifications of the Applicant

  • Prior to June 1, 2025, a PhD degree or a thesis accepted for defense must be obtained.
  • Prior to the application deadline, the PhD degree must have been granted within six years.
  • High levels of English proficiency are required.
  • A contract with a Danish host institution is required.

2. Needs for the Research Project

  • Whether it be in technique development, theoretical research, or creative applications, the project needs to have a significant data science component.

3. The Home Organization

  • The study needs to be carried out at a Danish university or research facility.
  • A letter of support attesting to the postdoc's acceptance must be provided by the host institution.
  • Candidates who have worked as postdocs at the same university for more than two years may not be eligible according to the Danish Postdoc 4-Year Rule.

Application Process:

Before the deadline, applications must be submitted via the DDSA Funding Portal. The following sections are part of the application process:

1. Proposal for a Research Project

  • Abstract (no more than 2,500 words).
  • Project description (no more than 8,000 characters) that includes the following: Background information, cutting-edge research issues, and methodologies.

3. Qualifications of the Applicant

  • Curriculum Vitae (CV) (no more than 6,000 words)
  • List of Publications (conference presentations, peer-reviewed papers, etc.)
  • PhD degree or a letter of verification from the PhD advisor
