Financial Benefits:
Merit Scholarships for International Students
FDU offers merit-based scholarships to international students based on their academic performance. Upon admission, these scholarships are awarded, and in some cases, they may be renewed annually.
- FDU International Student Scholarship: Up to $24,000 year, renewable for up to 4 years. SAT or ACT scores are not required; academic merit is the basis for awarding it.
- Grant for Alumni Offspring: $1,500 per year for dependent children of former FDU students. This award can be renewed by undergraduates for a maximum of four years.
- FDU Family Grant: $1,500 per year for families with two or more dependent children enrolled concurrently. The grant can be renewed for up to four years for undergraduates.
- Global Housing Grant: available to students residing on the Metropolitan campus, $3,000 annually, renewable for a maximum of two years. The criteria for awarding this grant are extracurricular activity, financial necessity, and academic merit.
Athletic Scholarships
- FDU offers athletic scholarships to students with outstanding athletic ability who participate in Division I of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). These scholarships, which cover the entire cost of tuition and housing, are exclusively available at the Metropolitan campus and are subject to Division I rules and regulations.\
Transfer Student Scholarships
FDU also offers scholarships to international transfer students.
- FDU International Transfer Scholarship: Depending on academic excellence, renewable with consistent full-time attendance, up to $16,000 per year.
- Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship: Given to transfer students who are members of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society (PTK) in recognition of their academic distinction. The duration of this scholarship is two years, renewable.
Graduate Scholarships
Graduate students also benefit from FDU's scholarship programs:
- Offspring of Alumni Grant: $1,500 per year, renewable for a maximum of two years for dependent offspring of FDU alumni.
- FDU Family Grant: given to FDU families with two or more dependent children, this grant is $1,500 per year and is renewable for a maximum of two years.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Students must submit their complete admissions application to FDU in order to be considered for any of these scholarships. Scholarships are awarded at the time of enrollment and cannot be repaid once they have been awarded. As long as the recipient continues to be enrolled full-time, maintains a high GPA, and is in good standing at FDU, the scholarship may also be renewed.

Application Process:
For international students, FDU has a rolling admissions procedure. Please allow three to four weeks for the processing of your application. All application materials and test results can be scanned and uploaded to the FDU application portal, or they can be emailed to global@fdu.edu. Accepted students must submit proper documents in sealed envelopes prior to arriving on school.
