1. Scholarship from UEF

3. Waivers of Finnish Proficiency Tuition

UEF provides proficiency-based waivers to encourage students to study Finnish:
  • Students who score "Intermediate Level 3 or 4" on the YKI Finnish Language Test are eligible for a 100% remission.
  • Students who finish UEF's Finnish 3 course are eligible for a 50% waiver.

4. Scholarships for Humanitarian Causes (Temporary Protection Holders)

  • 100% of tuition fees are waived.
  • Refund Policy: Tuition will be reimbursed to students who subsequently obtain temporary protection status.

Eligibility Criteria:

Tuition fees must be paid by international students from outside the EU, EEA, or Switzerland unless they satisfy one of the following exemption requirements:
  • Possess a continuous residency permit (A) or permanent resident permit (P) in Finland, excluding those acquired for academic purposes.
  • Be a family member of an EU citizen and possess an EU Blue Card or a residency card.
  • Hold a Brexit residency permit card issued in accordance with the withdrawal agreement.
  • Possess a residency permit in order to be temporarily protected in Finland.
  • For exemptions, students must present documentation of their residence permit validity at the start of the academic year (August 1).
