For international students from developing nations, the Joint Japan/World Bank Graduate Scholarship Program (JJ/WBGSP) 2025 is now accepting applications. The following is not covered by the JJ/WBGSP scholarship:
- Costs of applying for a VISA
- Costs associated with supporting and/or bringing a scholar's family;
- Extracurricular training or classes;
- Classes that don't count toward the graduate degree's minimal credit requirements;
- The graduate program does not offer language instruction;
- More journeys throughout the academic program;
- Costs for field trips, workshops, seminars, research, additional teaching materials, internships, or educational equipment like computers.
- Charge for a resident permit.

Eligibility Criteria:
This is a requirement for Basic Eligibility under the 2025 World Bank Graduate Scholarship Program.
- Be a citizen of a developing nation on this list that is a World Bank member.
- not possess dual citizenship in any developed nation
- Maintain your health!
- possess a bachelor's degree (or its equivalent) that was obtained at least three years before the application deadline.
- Have 3 years or more of recent development-related work experience after completing a Bachelor’s (or equivalent) degree.
- Be working a full-time, paid job linked to development at the time the scholarship application is submitted. Nationals of developing nations from nations that are included in the updated list of fragile and conflict states that is made available to applicants in the Application Guidelines for each scholarship call are the only exception to this rule.
- On or before the Scholarship Application Deadline date, be unconditionally admitted (except for funding) for the upcoming academic year to at least one of the JJ/WBGSP preferred university master's programs located outside of the applicant's country of citizenship and country of residence as listed when the scholarship application call opens. - A close relative of the aforementioned by blood or adoption is defined as a mother, father, sister, half-sister, brother, half-brother, son, daughter, aunt, uncle, niece, or nephew. They must also not be an Executive Director, his or her alternate, or staff member of any kind of appointment of the World Bank Group.
